Remember that the Final Exam will be held on Thursday, May 1, from 8:30AM - 11:00AM.  Also remember that your Blog Comment Post and Blog Conclusion Post are due before the exam.

April 22nd is our last class session before the final exam, so we will talk some more about Evaluating Resources and we will wrap up the semester. There is no preparatory reading for the 22nd. But remember that the last 4 blog posts/entries for your Pathfinder Project are due to your blog that day. And before the final exam (Thursday, May 1, 8:30AM - 11:00AM), you need to do your Blog Comment Post and Blog Conclusion Post.

For our April 15th class session, Charlotte Jones will be talking with us about Government Information. To prepare for the session, please review the powerpoint she has created: Government Information (the file is large, so be patient as you download).

For our April 8th class, we will be talking about digital libraries and collections. To prepare for the session, please:

-read the PDF version of following article available in the Gale Powersearch database:

Another 5 blog posts/entries for your Pathfinder Project are due to your blog on April 1st.

These 5 entries will represent 5 magazine or journal articles (at least 2 must be scholarly or peer-reviewed). Remember to include ALL of the following pieces of information in each post:

-a complete citation in either MLA, APA or Chicago style

-an indication of how you found the resource and the search terms that you used (exs. Library Catalog, Keyword Search: technology AND education; MEDLINE database, Advanced Search: conserv* )

-an indication of whether the resource represents a popular or scholarly treatment of the topic

-a brief paragraph about why you selected the resource for the pathfinder– why this is a useful resource on your topic.

As last time, each entry should be a separate post and categorize your post as “libs101path”.

Also note that we will be meeting in the Jepson computer lab (Room 108) on April 1st.

For our April 1st class, we will continue talking about the internet and search engines. To prepare for the session, please:

The first 5 blog posts/entries for your Pathfinder Project are due to your blog on March 11th.
